NEON GRADIENT | Large Format UV Reactive Wall Installation | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
NEON GRADIENT is a large format wall installation, 34 by 58 inches, built from layered plaster and mixed media and finished in hand applied UV reactive neon across a gradient of radiant purple into soft pink.
The work. The surface is the subject. Rather than an image applied to a flat ground, the piece is constructed as topography: plaster is built up by hand into ridges and valleys so that the colour has something to travel across. The gradient then behaves differently at every point of the relief, and the work reads as a field rather than a picture.
The experience. The piece has two distinct states. Under natural light it is sculptural and dimensional, and the texture does the work. Under UV or low light the neon ignites and the whole surface becomes a source rather than a receiver of light. It is built to change a room after dark.
Materials and craft. 3D plaster mixed media with hand layered texture, UV neon reactive paint, acrylic binders and an epoxy seal. Gallery ready hanging hardware is included.
For the collector. At this scale it needs and rewards a feature wall: an open plan living space, a lounge, a stairwell, a hotel lobby or a studio. It suits collectors of large format abstract work, light reactive and UV art, and textural mixed media painting.
