BALLOON GIRL | Street Art Tribute Pop Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
BALLOON GIRL is a three dimensional tribute to the most widely recognised image in street art, translated from flat stencil into a physical, high gloss sculpture.
The work. Created in 2021, the piece does something a stencil cannot. The original image works because it is flat, fast and reproducible, the visual language of a wall. Giving it mass and a reflective surface changes the terms entirely: the girl and the balloon now occupy space, cast shadow and can be walked around, and the gesture of release reads as an event rather than as a picture of one.
The form. The composition stays faithful to the silhouette everyone already knows, which is what allows the change of medium to carry the whole idea. The girl remains, the balloon remains, and the distance between them becomes real physical space.
Materials and craft. Resin cast form with acrylics and epoxy under the studio's high gloss finish, on a display base.
For the collector. The piece carries emotional weight well beyond its footprint. Suited to a shelf, desk, console or gallery corner, and to collectors of street art influenced contemporary sculpture.
