BRUCE LEE TRIBUTE | High Gloss Pop Art Resin Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.

This tribute sculpture honours the martial artist, philosopher and cultural figure whose influence reached far beyond film, translating physical grace into the permanence of resin and gloss.

The work. Created in 2022, the piece is built around a single held position rather than a portrait. Martial arts is about the instant before and after a movement, and sculpture can only ever show one frame, so the choice of which frame to freeze is the entire composition. The figure is caught mid kick, fully extended, with the whole weight of the body committed.

The form. The extended vertical of the leg gives the piece an unusually tall, narrow silhouette that reads clearly from across a room. Hand detailing concentrates on the face and the musculature of the form, where the tension of the pose is legible. In the gallery images the figure is shown on a hand painted graffiti oil drum plinth, a recurring display form in the HYPNOTIQ body of work.

Materials and craft. Resin cast figure with acrylics, spray paint, epoxy, hand detailed face and form and a high gloss automotive finish, on a weighted display base.

For the collector. Suits a study, a gym or training space, a media room or a collection of pop culture and film related sculpture, and appeals to martial arts practitioners, film collectors and collectors of figurative contemporary work.
