CHANEL LOVE VIOLET CHROME | Designer LOVE Bag Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ
An original contemporary sculptural artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
CHANEL LOVE, VIOLET CHROME stacks the word LOVE in violet above a mirror chrome shopping bag carrying a black logo. At 15.25 inches it is the tallest work in the designer LOVE series.
The designer LOVE series. Each work stacks the four letters of LOVE, modelled as soft bubble forms, on top of a fully sculpted designer shopping bag. The luxury shopping bag is one of the most efficient status symbols ever designed, recognisable from across a street before any product is seen. HYPNOTIQ turns it into a plinth and sets the word LOVE on top, so what is elevated is the sentiment rather than the label. Companion works in the series are listed individually.
The form. The chrome bag is the most reflective surface in the whole series, so this piece works harder than its companions at absorbing the room: architecture, lighting and the viewer all appear curved across the folds of the bag. Against that, the violet letters stay matte and solid, and the contrast between a surface that gives everything back and one that gives nothing back is the composition.
Colour and finish. Violet against mirror chrome, with a black logo as the only third element. The bag is fully sculpted, creases and folds intact, then finished to a mirror polish.
For the collector. At 15.25 inches this is a console, shelf or vitrine piece with genuine vertical presence, and it is the strongest choice in the series for a room with interesting light to reflect.
