DRIPPING ROSE MINI | Sculptural Contemporary Flower Art | HYPNOTIQ
An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
DRIPPING ROSE MINI is the compact companion to the full size Dripping Rose: the same melting flower gesture at desk scale, and worked in an entirely different material.
The work. The mini is not simply a smaller version. Where the full size piece is sealed under food safe epoxy resin and reads as wet and glassy, the mini is left in raw multicolour print with no resin at all, so the surface stays matte and the colour comes from the material itself rather than from a coating over it. Two readings of one idea.
The form. Layered petals build toward the centre of the flower before flowing downward into elongated drips that pool and become the base, so the sculpture has no separate plinth. It stands on its own melt.
Colour. Purple, blue and pink hues shift through the printed material, so the gradient runs continuously through the petals rather than sitting on top of them. Because the colour is in the material, it cannot chip or wear off the surface.
For the collector. At roughly seven inches this is a desk, shelf, vanity or bedside piece, and it works particularly well shown alongside the full size Dripping Rose, where the resin and no resin finishes read against each other. It suits collectors of botanical and surrealist contemporary sculpture, and makes an accessible entry point into the studio.
