FUZZY LOVE | Contemporary Teddy Bear Pop Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
FUZZY LOVE takes the most familiar object of childhood and rebuilds it as a contemporary sculpture, its surface covered in a genuinely fuzzy textile medium and its chest carrying the word LOVE.
The work. Created in 2022, the piece sits in the pop art tradition of taking something universally recognised and shifting its register until it can be looked at properly. The teddy bear is disarming by design, and that is exactly what makes it useful here: it lowers the guard of a viewer who might approach a sculpture defensively, and it gives a serious interior an unexpected point of warmth.
The form. A seated bear with rounded, simplified volumes that read clearly in silhouette. The fuzzy surface treatment is the distinguishing element, replacing the mirror gloss used across most of the studio output with something matte and tactile that absorbs light instead of reflecting it, so the LOVE detail on the chest becomes the only bright point on the piece.
Materials and craft. A resin base structure with an applied fuzzy textile medium, acrylics, an epoxy seal and hand finished detailing, presented on a display base.
For the collector. Suited to a shelf, console, plinth, nursery, study or living room, and to collections that need an emotional counterweight to harder, glossier work. It appeals to collectors of nostalgic and character based contemporary sculpture.
