GIANT FLOAT | Large Format 3D Wall Installation | HYPNOTIQ
An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
GIANT FLOAT is the most architecturally ambitious wall installation in the catalogue: a large format three dimensional sculpture engineered so its geometric elements appear to hang unsupported in front of the wall.
The work. Created in 2023, the piece is about defeating an expectation. Wall art is assumed to be attached to a surface, and the whole design problem here is hiding that attachment. Precision mounting holds the sculptural elements clear of the wall plane, so the eye registers weightlessness before it registers construction.
The form. Because the elements sit forward of the wall, the piece produces its own shadow field, and that shadow is part of the composition rather than a side effect. Depth and dimension shift across the work as the light changes through the day, so it is never quite the same piece twice.
For the collector. This is a work for spaces with ambition and wall height: a lobby, a great room, a double height space, a gallery wall that needs a single decisive object. It suits collectors of large format abstract and geometric wall work.
