GOLDEN COUPLE is two figures in an embrace, finished entirely in warm gold resin so the whole composition reads as a single continuous surface.
The work. Created in 2022, this is the most directly romantic figurative piece in the catalogue, and deliberately so: no irony, no conceptual distance, no protective layer of commentary. Just two people, together, in gold. Making that choice in a practice built largely on wit is its own kind of risk.
The form. Because both figures share one finish, the eye reads them as a single mass before it separates them into two bodies, which is the point of the composition. Gold catches every light source in a room, so the piece changes temperature through the day: cooler in morning light, deeply warm under lamps in the evening.
Materials and craft. Resin cast couple figures with gold metallic paint, acrylics and hand detailed surfaces under a high gloss epoxy finish, on a display base.
