HYPNOTIQ TAG takes the artist's own graffiti signature and builds it as a five foot mixed media wall sculpture, so a mark designed to be sprayed in seconds becomes an object made over weeks.
The work. A tag is the most disposable form in street art. It is fast by definition, made to be seen briefly and often removed. Rendering one at five feet in hand sanded resin inverts every one of those conditions: permanence instead of impermanence, precision instead of speed, gallery instead of wall. The raw spray can line survives inside a controlled, gallery grade relief.
The form. The letterforms carry the momentum of a hand drawn tag, all continuous stroke and overlap, but built with real depth so the piece throws shadow and reads dimensionally from an angle. At five feet the composition needs a wall of its own.
Materials and craft. A 3D printed structural core, hand sanded to a fully smooth surface, encased in an automotive grade high gloss resin finish. Gallery ready and prepared to install on delivery.
