STARDUST | 29 Inch Glitter and Crystal Pop Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
STARDUST is a 29 inch mixed media companion figure wrapped in an unbroken field of hand applied glitter, resin and iridescent crystal elements. Created in 2023, it belongs to the HYPNOTIQ Companion Series.
The work. The seated companion figure has become one of the defining silhouettes of contemporary collectible sculpture. HYPNOTIQ takes that familiar shape and does something specific with the surface: instead of the flat, injection moulded gloss the form is usually associated with, every square inch is broken into reflective particulate. The result is a figure with no single colour, only a shifting range that changes with the light source and the viewing angle.
The form. The figure sits low and forward, with the word LOVE across the chest and oversized rounded features that read clearly in silhouette from across a room. It stands on a crystal element base that lifts it clear of the surface and catches light from below, so the piece is illuminated from two directions at once.
Materials and craft. A 3D printed structural core, hand sanded to automotive smoothness, then layered with fine glitter, UV resin, an epoxy coat and acrylic paint, and finished in an ultra high gloss resin seal. The piece is internally weighted for stability.
For the collector. Suited to a plinth, a wide shelf or beneath a directed spotlight, where the glitter has something to work with. It belongs in luxury residential interiors, boutique hotel lobbies and high end retail installations, and appeals to collectors of contemporary pop and companion sculpture. Works from this family have entered collections in Seattle, Germany and Australia.
