STARDUST | 29 Inch Glitter and Crystal Pop Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
STARDUST is a 29-inch mixed-media pop sculpture created in 2023 as HYPNOTIQ’s reinterpretation of the visual language of KAWS’s COMPANION character. Rather than reproduce the familiar figure as a flat-color collectible, HYPNOTIQ transforms it through surface, text and light.
The work. The standing figure is wrapped in an intense field of hand-applied glitter, resin and iridescent crystal elements. Across the chest, the word LOVE becomes the central intervention, shifting the emotional reading of the familiar silhouette from detached coolness toward vulnerability, attachment and pop-romantic symbolism.
The form. The recognizable rounded head, X-marked eyes and simplified body are retained as a visual starting point, while the reflective crystal-and-glitter surface changes the sculpture continuously with the surrounding light. The work stands on a custom sculptural base that lifts the figure and extends the reflective field below it.
The HYPNOTIQ intervention. As a pop artist, HYPNOTIQ often begins with an image or character embedded in contemporary culture and alters its emotional narrative. Here, LOVE is not decorative lettering; it is the conceptual pivot of the piece. The character becomes less icon and more emotional subject.
Materials and craft. A 3D-printed structural core is hand sanded, layered with fine glitter, UV resin, epoxy, acrylic paint and iridescent crystal elements, then sealed in an ultra-high-gloss resin finish. The piece is internally weighted for stability.
