BFF LOLLIPOP | When BFF Found Love Pop Art Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
BFF LOLLIPOP captures a single narrative moment: the second a famously aloof, woolly textured character loosens its grip and drops its gold banded lollipop, having finally encountered love. The sweet lands below in a pooled, glossy red resin spill that forms part of the base.
The work. Most character sculpture presents a figure in a neutral standing pose. This one is built around an event, which is far harder to model: the piece has to communicate shock, release and the split second before something hits the floor, using only posture and a falling object. The result is a juxtaposition of street culture, sleek luxury finishing and genuine vulnerability.
The form. The figure stands tall and pale, with the full furry surface texture rendered in three dimensions rather than suggested through paint. The lollipop stick angles down and away from the loosened hand, and the red spill spreads across the plinth below in a high gloss pool that reads as liquid.
Materials and craftsmanship. This is a labour intensive, multi tiered hand finished work. It was digitally constructed and printed in robust, eco conscious recycled plastic in precise segments, then fused together for structural symmetry and weight balance. The surface went through repeated cycles of manual priming and high grit hand sanding to erase every print line, which is what allows the complex furry texture to read cleanly rather than as printing artefact.
For the collector. A plinth or gallery corner piece that rewards close reading, since the story is only legible once the viewer notices the falling lollipop and the spill. It suits collectors of character based contemporary sculpture and narrative pop art.
