COMPANION RELIEF | 3D Pop Culture Wall Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
COMPANION RELIEF is an original three dimensional wall sculpture that takes the flat, graphic language of contemporary street art and pushes it off the surface into real depth.
The work. Companion iconography is normally encountered either as a two dimensional print or as a freestanding figure. The relief format sits deliberately between the two. From straight on it reads as a bold graphic panel; from an angle it resolves into a sculpted object with genuine projection and cast shadow. Created in 2021 in the artist Seattle studio, it is a handcrafted original rather than a reproduction.
The form. The figure is built out from the panel in layered depth, roughly four inches at its deepest, with the limbs and head reading clearly in profile. Saturated colour blocking holds the composition together at a distance, and the high gloss finish means the piece picks up the room lighting the way a lacquered surface does.
Materials and craft. A 3D printed structural core, hand sanded, then finished in resin, acrylics, spray paint and epoxy under an automotive grade high gloss coat. Gallery wall mounting hardware is included.
For the collector. A wall anchor for a living room, entry, office, studio or retail interior, and a natural companion to other pop art and street art influenced work. It suits collectors interested in the crossover between street culture and contemporary sculpture, and in original handmade interpretations rather than mass produced objects.
