LIPS | Interactive Smart Mannequin Pop Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
LIPS is a full interactive torso sculpture built around an oversized, hyper glossy lips motif, with a Samsung smart tablet integrated into the body for live content display.
The work. Created in 2022, the piece brings together two different obsessions: the twentieth century pop art fixation on the feminine icon reduced to a single feature, and the twenty first century fixation on the screen. Putting a working display inside a pop art body makes the connection literal rather than theoretical.
The form. A standing torso in saturated pink and violet with a high gloss finish, the lips motif enlarged well past natural scale so it functions as graphic rather than anatomy. The tablet sits in the chest. LED elements light the figure from within its base.
The function. The screen makes the work adaptable. It can run branded content in a boutique, ambient visuals in a lobby, or art films in a gallery, and it can be left dark so the sculpture speaks on its own terms.
Materials and craft. Full mannequin torso, resin, acrylics, spray paint, an integrated Samsung Wi-Fi touchscreen tablet, LED elements and an epoxy high gloss finish. Freestanding.
