LIPS | Interactive Smart Mannequin Pop Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ
An original contemporary sculptural artwork by Seattle artist Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
LIPS is a monumental interactive smart mannequin that brings together pop art, digital media, light, fashion and sculptural fabrication in a single full-body work.
The work. Created in 2022 and continuously evolved in the HYPNOTIQ studio, LIPS transforms the female mannequin into an immersive contemporary sculpture. Its defining feature is an oversized pixelated lips sculpture that replaces the conventional head with a bold graphic icon, turning the figure into something between a human form, a digital avatar and a pop art monument.
The form. The full-body mannequin is hand finished in saturated pink, violet, silver and reflective details. The pixelated lips crown the figure at monumental scale, while sculptural LED tubing wraps and travels around the body, creating luminous cyan, pink and violet lines that shift the silhouette as the viewer moves around the work.
Technology and interactivity. A 7-inch smart tablet is integrated directly into the chest, transforming the body into a digital canvas for moving imagery, video loops and changing visual content. The screen becomes part of the sculpture rather than an accessory, extending the physical work into digital media.
The base. The figure is anchored to a custom mixed-media base where the feet and sculptural elements appear suspended within clear resin. Reflective chrome spheres, light and transparent material create a futuristic environment beneath the body and extend the sculpture all the way to the floor.
The wings. The newest evolution introduces oversized sculptural angel wings, dramatically expanding the silhouette beyond the human body. The wings add scale, movement and a theatrical architectural presence while reinforcing the tension between the physical figure and its transformed, almost otherworldly identity.
The experience. LIPS changes character with its environment. In daylight, the pixelated geometry, reflective surfaces and hand-finished body dominate. After dark, the illuminated tubing and digital display activate another layer of the work, allowing light, technology and sculpture to operate together.
For the collector. Designed as a one-of-a-kind statement sculpture for private collections, galleries, luxury residences, fashion environments, hospitality spaces and experiential installations. LIPS is not a static mannequin. It is an evolving HYPNOTIQ work built at the intersection of contemporary sculpture, pop culture and technology.
