LOUIS VUITTON LOVE ORIGINAL | Gold LOVE on Black Bag | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary sculptural artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
LOUIS VUITTON LOVE, ORIGINAL VERSION stacks the word LOVE in gold above a black sparkle shopping bag carrying a large monogram logo and brand name. It is the first version of this sculpture, made several years before the artist returned to the idea.
The designer LOVE series. Each work stacks the four letters of LOVE, modelled as soft bubble forms, on top of a fully sculpted designer shopping bag. The luxury shopping bag is one of the most efficient status symbols ever designed, recognisable from across a street before any product is seen. HYPNOTIQ turns it into a plinth and sets the word LOVE on top, so what is elevated is the sentiment rather than the label. Companion works in the series are listed individually.
What makes this the original. A later version exists with sharper edge definition and hand applied 24K gold leaf, listed separately as LOUIS VUITTON LOVE. This first version is finished without leaf and with softer, rounder edges throughout, which gives it a warmer and less exacting character than its successor. The two read as a clear before and after in the artist's development.
Colour and finish. Gold letters against a black sparkle bag, the highest contrast pairing in the series. The black holds fine glitter that only reveals itself at close range, so from across a room the composition reads as two flat blocks and up close both surfaces turn out to have texture.
For the collector. A shelf, console, desk or vitrine piece that needs very little surface area for the presence it carries. It suits collectors of fashion inspired and designer inspired art, pop art collectors and luxury interior designers, and sits naturally in residential interiors, dressing rooms, boutiques and showrooms.
