LOVE IN THE CLOUD | Surrealist Pop Sculpture Installation | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
LOVE IN THE CLOUD is a sculptural installation in which a pair of high gloss mannequin legs rises out of a cloud shaped resin base, wrapped in iridescent fabric mediums and worked in gold, crystal and neon.
The work. The image is straightforwardly surrealist: a body emerging from weather, with everything above the hips removed from the equation. The legs are treated as fashion, polished and styled, while the cloud is treated as dream imagery, and neither is allowed to resolve the other. Created in 2022 in collaboration with @emercam_pro.
The form. The vertical of the legs against the horizontal spread of the cloud gives the piece an unstable, floating geometry that reads as levitation rather than as standing. The gloss on the legs pulls the room into the surface, while the base stays matte and diffuse, so the two halves of the sculpture behave differently in the same light.
Materials and craft. Mannequin legs, mixed fabric mediums, gold finish elements, crystals, glow in the dark paint, UV reactive elements, a cloud form resin base and an epoxy seal. In darkness the glow elements take over and the piece changes register entirely.
For the collector. Suited to high fashion boutiques, luxury hotel lobbies, dressing rooms and living spaces where a surrealist object is welcome. It appeals to collectors of surrealist pop sculpture, fashion inspired art and mixed media installation.
