NEON BALLOON DOG is the studio's luminous reading of the most recognisable sculptural form of the contemporary era, rendered in neon reactive paint, UV elements and high gloss resin.
The work. Created in 2022, this is the most direct conversation in the catalogue with the contemporary art canon. The balloon dog has been reproduced so widely that it has stopped being a reference and become a shared vocabulary, and adding UV reactivity moves it from quotation into argument: the form is familiar, the behaviour is not.
The experience. In daylight it is bold and graphic. Under UV it ignites. Both states are fully resolved, and the piece is designed to be lived with in both rather than switched between as a novelty.
Materials and craft. A 3D printed structural core with UV neon reactive paint, resin, acrylics and epoxy under a high gloss finish, on a weighted display base.
For the collector. At 20 inches it works on a plinth, a wide console or a shelf with clearance. Suited to a lounge, media room, studio, bar or retail interior, and to collectors of pop art and light reactive contemporary sculpture.
