BLACK PANTHER | High Gloss Pop Art Animal Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ

An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
BLACK PANTHER renders the big cat in layered black, matte against gloss, finished to a depth that makes a single colour behave like several.
The work. Created in 2021, the piece draws on two sources at once: genuine reverence for the animal, and the cultural weight the black panther has accumulated as a symbol of power and self possession. Neither reading cancels the other, and the sculpture is deliberately quiet enough to hold both.
The form. Low, long and horizontal at roughly 20 inches nose to tail, the body is built for a wide surface rather than a tall one. Because the whole piece is black, the musculature has to be read entirely through reflection, and the alternation of matte and gloss passages is what makes the anatomy legible: some planes swallow the light, others throw it straight back.
Materials and craft. Resin cast animal form with matte and gloss black paint layers and an epoxy seal under a high gloss automotive finish, on a display base.
For the collector. It does not announce itself; it is simply there, and that restraint is why it works in rooms where a saturated piece would be too much. Suited to a console, plinth, shelf, study or entry, and to collectors of animal sculpture in the pop and luxury tradition.
