PINK O LUSH is a contemporary pop art figure built entirely around one colour: a saturated, layered pink that refuses to sit in the background of any room it occupies.
The work. Created in 2023, the piece treats colour as a position rather than a finish. Several major artists have built entire practices on a single visual element, and HYPNOTIQ's relationship with this pink works the same way: it is not decoration applied to a form, it is the reason the form exists.
The form. With no secondary palette and no surface pattern, the silhouette has to carry the whole composition, and the high gloss is what makes it legible. Reflections travel the contour continuously, so the eye reads the shape of the body through the light moving across it rather than through shading.
Materials and craft. Resin cast figure with layered saturated pink acrylics and epoxy under a high gloss automotive finish, on a display base. The layering is what gives the pink depth instead of flatness.
