The HYPNOTIQ PUFFER is a garment treated as a canvas: a premium puffer jacket hand painted and customised in the studio, carrying the neon, pop art and street art language of the sculptural work onto something that can actually be worn.
The work. Artist merchandise reproduces an image. This is the opposite process. Each jacket is painted individually, so the garment is the artwork rather than a print of one, and no two are the same. The HYPNOTIQ signature on the piece establishes its provenance as a studio original.
The form. The quilted panelling of a puffer gives the paint a segmented, three dimensional ground to work across, so the composition breaks and reforms along the seams as the garment moves. The result reads differently worn than it does hanging.
Materials and craft. A premium puffer jacket base, hand applied acrylics and spray paint, sealed with a UV resistant topcoat, artist signed and studio made.
For the collector. It works two ways: worn to an opening or an event, or archived and displayed as a studio original.
