An original contemporary artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
SPLASHED SPRAY CAN is a full size resin spray can frozen in a state of permanent mid explosion, the paint caught in the instant of leaving the nozzle.
The work. Created in 2020, this is one of the earliest signature works from the studio and carries its conceptual DNA: the idea that the act of making art is as beautiful as the art itself. The sculpture takes the tool rather than the output as its subject, which makes it self referential without being cynical about it.
The form. The can sits at the centre of a burst of solidified splatter that radiates outward and forms part of the base, so the composition has a horizontal spread far wider than the object at its centre. That contrast, a rigid manufactured cylinder inside an entirely chaotic form, is what gives the piece its energy.
Materials and craft. Resin cast spray can form with spray paint splatter elements, acrylics and an epoxy seal under a high gloss automotive finish, on a display base.
For the collector. A tabletop or plinth work for a studio, office, lounge, retail interior or a collection of street art influenced sculpture. Custom tag work can be discussed with the studio.
