THREE ABSTRACT HUMANS | Matte Gray Contemporary Figurative Sculpture | HYPNOTIQ
An original contemporary sculptural artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
THREE ABSTRACT HUMANS is a quiet, tightly composed group of three seated figures, each performing one gesture of the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil triad. One covers the eyes, one covers the ears, one covers the mouth. Stripped of faces and detail, the figures carry their meaning entirely in posture.
The abstraction is the point. Because the bodies are reduced to smooth, anonymous volumes, the gestures read as universal rather than personal, and the work sits comfortably between contemporary figurative sculpture and modern conceptual object. Displayed together on a single base, the three figures form one composition rather than three separate pieces, and the negative space between them is as considered as the forms themselves.
The figures are printed in matte gray recycled PLA and finished with a fuzzy skin surface texture, a fabrication technique that gives the material a fine, velvety tactility and softens the way light falls across each body. Nothing is glossed. The absence of reflection is deliberate, and it is what allows the silhouettes to stay legible from across a room.
The group is mounted on an oval Plexiglas base approximately half an inch thick. The clear acrylic lifts the figures slightly and reads as almost weightless, so the sculpture appears to float on whatever surface it occupies. On a polished or dark tabletop the base picks up a soft reflection beneath the group.
The restrained palette and modest footprint make this an unusually versatile collectible sculpture. It works on a coffee table, a desk, a bookshelf or a bedside surface, and it suits minimalist and neutral interiors where a saturated pop piece would overwhelm. For collectors it offers a piece with genuine subject matter rather than pure decoration.
