An original contemporary sculptural artwork by Arian Lori-Amini, known professionally as HYPNOTIQ.
YSL LOVE MINI is the micro scale work in the HYPNOTIQ designer LOVE series: black onyx LOVE letters and a black onyx logo above a pearl white sculpted shopping bag, standing 4 inches tall.
The work. The series takes the luxury shopping bag, one of the most efficient status symbols ever designed, and turns it into a plinth for the word LOVE, so what is elevated is the sentiment rather than the label. At 4 inches this version compresses that whole idea into an object that fits in a palm.
The form. The letters are modelled as inflated, balloon like volumes, which keeps the tone light against the precision of the crumpled bag beneath. Black onyx against pearl white is the highest contrast and the most restrained pairing in the series: two values, no third colour.
Materials and finish. Recycled plastic, hand finished. The bag is fully sculpted, folds and creases intact.
For the collector. At this size it becomes a desk, vitrine, bookshelf or dressing table object, and it functions as a natural companion piece to any of the full size works in the series. It is the most accessible entry point into the designer LOVE collection.
