The HYPNOTIQ Bugs Bunny Companion — Pop Sculpture Meets Sneaker Culture

Some collectible sculptures get their power from material innovation. Some get it from scale. The HYPNOTIQ Bugs Bunny Companion gets its power from a different source entirely: cultural memory layered on top of luxury craft. The piece takes one of the most globally recognized cartoon characters of the 20th century, dresses it in chrome silver pants and a purple Nike puffer jacket, hands it a signature carrot, and mounts it on a black HYPNOTIQ-branded plinth. The result is pop sculpture for the collector who lives at the intersection of nostalgia, fashion, and the designer-toy market.

The Concept

The Bugs Bunny Companion sits at the conceptual center of three different collecting worlds simultaneously. First, designer toy / pop sculpture — the same lineage as KAWS Companions and Murakami flowers. Second, sneaker culture — the purple Nike puffer and chrome air-cushioned sneakers are deliberate references to high-end streetwear. Third, cartoon iconography — the Looney Tunes character is one of the most reproduced figures in 20th-century art history, second only to Mickey Mouse. HYPNOTIQ's contribution is binding those three worlds into one hand-finished, signed studio sculpture.

The Custom Michael Jordan Edition

One custom edition of the Bugs Bunny Companion was commissioned and displayed alongside a Michael Jordan figure in a HYPNOTIQ-branded purple basketball jersey marked with the number 23. The pairing references the 1996 Space Jam film — the moment Looney Tunes and basketball stardom collided in mainstream pop culture for the first time. The Jordan + Bunny installation has been shown in the studio gallery alongside foundational KAWS Companion figures, creating a visual conversation between original and homage that collectors and gallery curators have responded to.

Where the Bugs Bunny Companion Belongs

The Bugs Bunny Companion has found homes in penthouse foyers overlooking ski-resort lakes, in HYPNOTIQ's own gallery space alongside the KAWS Companion reference works, on Miami penthouse terraces, and in the kind of collector cabinets where designer toys and luxury sculpture share shelf space. The piece photographs powerfully against both interior architecture (the contrast between cartoon character and luxury hard-edged minimalism is the visual hook) and exterior environments where the chrome silver pants catch outdoor light. Snow installations are particularly photogenic — the cold tones of winter against the chrome and purple wardrobe create a signature visual that several HYPNOTIQ collectors have used for press placement.

The Michael Jordan custom edition has been the most-photographed Companion variation in the studio's recent gallery cycle.

Custom Commissions

The Bugs Bunny Companion is open to custom commission. Past collectors have specified custom team jersey paint schemes, alternative footwear references (signature Air Jordans, retro Yeezys), and paired pieces for matched gallery installations. Pricing is shared on inquiry. Standard commission lead time runs 8 to 12 weeks. Each piece ships with a Certificate of Authenticity and the studio's signature on the plinth's underbase.
